The Executive Certificate Program

The executive certificate is intended for professionals who have 15+ years of experience, or are beginning to manage projects with a high degree of complexity and risk, or are program managers with responsibility for a portfolio of projects. This certificate is the third of three levels of certificates and is awarded upon successful completion of a series three seminars with UMD Project Management Program Staff. These seminars investigate issues of concern for the Executives in attendance, advanced problem solving techniques, Positive Workplace, and Global issues in Project Management. These Seminars are provided in an Offsite venue with overnight lodging and meals included. At the completion of these seminars, you will reinforce a broad range of project, portfolio, and program management skills for an experienced project manager. You will be placed in an intensive learning environment in which you will apply best practices to a sophisticated project simulation. You will also gain insight regarding how to scale project management practices to a variety of projects.

The Professional Development Program is only available to clients having 15 or more students. The courses are not available for individual open enrollment. All instruction is consistent with the Project Management Institutes’ PMBOK™ Guide. The A.J. Clark School of Engineering, University of Maryland, brings these certificate programs to you through the use of lectures, exercises, sophisticated case studies, and classroom discussion. You will gain both practical knowledge that can be applied to current projects and basic knowledge that will aid in preparation for the PMI™ certification examination if that is objective. Each 3-day class earns 21 PDU’s or 2.1 CEU’s.
