The Associate Certificate Program
Our Professional Development Program provides several options for the Project Management Professional. We offer an Associate Certificate in Project Management based upon three carefully developed courses that provide the learning professional with a clearly defined toolset to actually leave the classroom and immediately apply what you have learned. The Associate Certificate is an entry-level program designed for working professionals with 5+ years of experience and you’re beginning to manage projects with small to moderate complexity and risk.
The Associate Certificate includes three courses of three days duration each:
1.1 Project Initiation and Planning
1.2 Effective Project Execution, Control and Closeout
1.3 Leading Project Teams
Note that the Professional Development Program is only available to clients having 15 or more students. The courses are not available for individual open enrollment. Coursework can be provided in a number of venues including on-site and at the UMD facilities. Our Distance Education Technology and Services Classrooms as well as online learning provide unique alternatives to enhance the Project Management Learning experience.
All instruction is consistent with the Project Management Institutes’ PMBOK™ Guide. At the completion of these four core classes, you will be able to effectively develop and practice skills in the planning and execution of a project. Topics will specifically address tools and techniques that build a stronger set of controls around project scope, cost, schedule, and risk. Additionally, you will develop a leadership perspective regarding the challenges of managing project teams in a demanding environment. Each 3-day class earns 21 PDU’s or 2.1 CEU’s.
The A.J. Clark School of Engineering, University of Maryland, brings this certificate program to you through the use of lectures, exercises, sophisticated case studies, and classroom discussion. You will gain practical knowledge that can be applied to current projects and basic knowledge that will aid in preparation for the PMI™ certification examination. We also offer course specifically designed to prepare you for the PMP™ Examination sponsored by the Project Management Institute and offered by the A.J. Clark School of Engineering in Online and Classroom settings. Each 3-day class earns 21 PDU’s or 2.1 CEU’s.
