e-Construction Group of Project Management Program at the University of Maryland

Industry Interaction

Outreach to industry is an ongoing part of e-Construction Group's activities. While collaborating closely with other academic institutions to undertake joint research, we maintain dynamic interaction with the construction and other related industry, and strives to turn technological advances and emerging management concepts and tools into practical application by cooperating with our industry partners.

There are several mechanisms for interaction, which are flexible and can be tailored to individual requirements based on your timescale, budget, and capabilities:

(1) Collaborative research. We are willing to undertake interactive research in all of our major research areas. The nature of the collaboration can vary from full or part sponsorship of research assistantships through to contract research projects.

(2) Consultancy. Having a wide range of expertise and experience in our subject areas, we are available for consultancy for external organizations.

(3) Feasibility studies. We are capable of examining the feasibility of your ideas, testing the viability of your concepts and undertaking short-term investigations.

(4) Technology transfer and commercialization.

(5) Student internships.

We are continually seeking further opportunities to generate mutually beneficial collaborations with industry partners. If you want to discuss your ideas, initiatives, or internship/permanent employment opportunities in detail, please contact Prof. Skibniewski or Y. Alex Zeng.
